“Max joined Overton School at the end of September last year. When he started we were very apprehensive. Max settled immediately. The school were amazing at accommodating a transition period to suit him . The communication we had with the school was fantastic once funding had been agreed. The staff seemed to immediately be able to understand my son’s needs in ways that another specialist setting did not seem to understand previously: The school curriculum suits my son so much better. They do more academic learning in the morning and it is more vocational/activity lead in the afternoon. Max responds really well to the small classes and the bespoke curriculum.
The communication with the staff is fantastic and they ring, email when there is positives to say not just negatives. Any worries or concerns they have they talk to me about it. Max feels safe, trusts staff, is really settled and happy and is engaging in learning. I receive weekly feedback with each day broken down, this includes Max’s comments and photographs of what he’s been doing. We now believe that Max will learn and develop as he is in a caring and nurturing environment.“

“X has been with the school for a number of years and its a testament to Overton School that the achievements of X have clearly been exceeded beyond my expectation given the challenges that X has presented to the school and other previous placements
The school initially was very raw, newly opened when X arrived and to a degree it showed, albeit all pupils were always safe and appeared happy. The resource facilities were a little stretched and looked thin on the ground at times but the acquisition of Overton School was clearly well thought out by the powers that be.
Fast forward and change of the Headships twice. The school is headed up by Nicola Chokkuea and extremely focused professional and significantly experienced person. The operation presents in a very calm way but all aspects of the education being delivered is exceptional, in particular the middle management structure is outstanding, with a wealth of experience, with the levels of qualifications demonstrated beyond doubt.”
Clearly the team are hand picked for the all round ability they can offer and deliver, its fully supportive of all the main issues that we all strive to achieve, environmental issues with a grasp of inclusive diversification again being demonstrated.
The level of capital investment has been nothing short of spectacular, engineering excellence at its best. IT has been massively upgraded and Its obvious that a full audit of current safety/fire regulation hardware has been totally overhauled. This for me gives me huge satisfaction as essentially its all about our young people that are educated there and they are the beneficiary’s of this investment.
Finally the school has been very heavily involved in shaping the future of X in both his academic future and core social skill developments.
Its now using a remote educational setting to further develop the interest that X has offsite and this in turn is overseen by Overton School. The conduit to successful education is communication, the school excels at this and is truly outstanding.
I personally believe that collaboration is critical to success and to date this has been achieved.
